Three design comps for a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida redesign proposal.

The objective was to reorganize this Member section in way that helps the end user to track and manage policies and claims. I pulled together a palette of colors from the photography provided and worked to create a more intuitive and accessible environment overall.

Completed while at DRAFTFCB, Chicago.

Part of a large fashion oriented campaign by Kmart in the spring of 2008. Designs were driven by a contest involving Kmart’s “searched” for a 5th “fashionista” through an anonymous open-call for models in NYC and L.A.

Designed for all standard on-line media banner sizes.

An informational and interactive web site for a Kmart weight-loss program. Featuring health tools, links to on-line merchandise and informational articles.

Kmart had recently expanded their ‘New Day, Your Way’ program to a national event that started on January 12th, 2008. Our team was responsible for the visual and conceptual redesign for the 2008 program/contest. I designed a Flash ‘Main Stage’ in order to leverage Kmart’s catalog of photography and to establish product prominence, as well as develop a fun, yet sophisticated navigation. The site is filled with information and printable guides for losing weight. However, we also needed to satisfy Kmart’s position as a retail business, in the form of product sales.

We very purposefully developed a system of ‘tips’ and ‘facts’, linked to product areas, in order to connect the benefit of this information with the products mentioned. Overall the navigation was concise and to the point, areas were condensed and organized for the easiest and most beneficial consumer experience.

I played a second role in producing of the site and getting it on-line. As the Art Director I oversaw the development of the Flash ‘Main Stage’ while I personally built the frame work and remaining content using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Additional .ASP elements came from outside partners.

*This project was completed while working for DRAFTFCB in Chicago. This site is no longer on-line.

General Brand web banners meant for use with a mixture of product areas as well as specific product areas such as electronics, clothing or furniture.

(Please open the article to see the flash file or player.)

The assignment was to develop a general brand piece for campaigns in 2008 that could work with multiple product areas at once. Additionally this system of on-line banners was designed to be modular and re-fitted with a single product, such as ‘electronics’ or ‘clothing’.

The “Find Your Store” functionality did not make it into the final output due to technical limitations. However, while conceptually developing these pieces there were clear benefits for the consumer by having a store location feature on each page that this banner appears.

Designed for all standard on-line media banner sizes.

Samples from various project completed while working as an Interactive Art Director at DRAFTFCB.

Slides 1+2: Here are a couple of samples from work as an Interactive Art Director developing new content for KFC as well as their family related site BringBackDinner.com. BringBackDinner.com was a design and content refresh. Development of navigation, design and content.

View the KFC homepage sample on-line: Tangy Teriyaki (Archive)

Slide 3: A Jell-o forum for their “Red Carpet Ready” campaign, showcasing Jell-o as a low calorie dietary option. My role was to re-mix existing designs and style the forum using CSS and coordinating with the vendor that provided the forum service.

Slide 4+5: Two samples of an internal blog developed for DOW public relations and employees. This was one of the first WordPress project I worked on. My role was to tighten up the design and execute it through WP modification and CSS development.

*Unfortunately I do not have the source files for some of these projects
and a number of them are no longer on-line.
